Roofing Specialists, Inc. has completed successful projects for our company over the last several years. Two major projects were the clubhouse at Mountain Top Golf & Lake Club in Cashiers, NC, and a major addition to the Cherokee Town & Country Club located in Atlanta. Both were complicated roofing projects requiring a high level of skilled craftsman and everyday oversight. The Mountain Top project was a 47,000 square foot facility which included a wood shake roof ($500,000 roofing subcontract value), and the Cherokee project ($650,000 roofing subcontract value) which had a very detailed steep sloped graduated thickness slate roof. Roofing Specialists' expertise in high end roofing materials, and their knowledge and dedication to flashing details was instrumental in providing a quality roof with no call backs.

We have worked together a long time to get a roof on my house that I wanted to be happy with. I've always wanted a slate roof for our Druid Hills home. I began my research about 5 months ago working with you and another company along with my contractor John Gilbert at John Wesley Hammer Construction. I looked at many homes and spoke with Troyce Jackson, a consultant in slate. You reviewed your portfolio with me. I chose you for our roofer and then we decided on a somewhat difficult roof design with varying sizes and thicknesses of the slate along with a staggered butt installation utilizing two different but similar colors of slate.

You came to me with recommendations and references that thought highly of you. Yet I knew what I wanted and I wanted the roof to look great. I wanted to drive down my driveway and look at my roof with pleasure.

Gary, the roof matched if not exceeded my high expectations. During the process, you took your time explaining the process and installation until I clearly understood our discussion. You have always been pleasant and made the process fun. Your crew was fantastic, each one an artisan in their own right. They were pleasant, worked hard, and obviously have a wonderful working relationship with you. Thank you for a job well done! During December and January, 2012-13, Roofing Specialists Inc. replaced over 8,000 square feet of slate roofing on our church and rectory buildings here at All Souls Parish, in St. Louis, MO. The entire project was accomplished during some very challenging winter weather.

When high winds ripped through a portion of roof that had been covered and was awaiting slate work, minor water damage occurred on the ceiling of our church. The interior damage was remedied quickly, beautifully, and without question by you, Mr. Shank. That was greatly appreciated.

After periodic lay-offs due to the inclement weather, the new slate was applied in January, with each tile having been trimmed to replicate the shape of the original tile installed on our church roof in 1950.

With the same attention to detail, Roofing Specialists, Inc. also installed over 120 linear feet of copper gutter and yards of copper flashing, which were also designed to closely match the copper installed on the building during its construction in 1950.

The excellent quality in the work performed by Roofing Specialists, Inc., as well as the respect that the crew had for our buildings and surrounding property, attest to your company's professionalism and high standards of excellence. But even more importantly, your foreman kept us informed on a regular basis as this job progressed. I was always confident that our church and rectory roofs were in good hands.

The following letter outlines the history and experience between Roofing Specialists, Inc. and Ludowici. Roofing Specialists, Inc. has the status of "Ludowici Elite Crown Roofer". This is the highest level that can be achieved in the available Ludowici roofer program offering.

This letter is to confirm that Roofing Specialists, Inc. is authorized to purchase, install and provide Ludowici's 75-year material warranty on such terra cotta roof tile purchases. Roofing Specialists, Inc. has successfully worked with Ludowici in the past and is in good standing with our company.

Ludowici is a manufacturer of architectural terra cotta building products (roof tiles, wall tiles, floor tiles and solar shades) based in New Lexington, Ohio since 1888.

In May of 2025, we contracted with Roofing Specialist, Inc. to install a new slate roof on our almost 70-year-old sanctuary. This extensive installation required the removal of all the original slate, the installation of new underlayment, and the installation of new slate and copper flashing and valleys. This job took approximately four months and was completed in August, 2025.
