In Sevier County, we installed a terne metal roof on a 1909 farmhouse, a job that came to us on the direct recommendation of Follansbee Steel, the manufacturer. In Knoxville, we put tile and copper on a 1937 home, blending new craft into an old house the way it should be done.
The Smoky Mountains are cedar and slate country: deep shadow lines on lake houses, hand-hung stone on ridgeline estates. And around Nashville and Franklin, the traditional homes going up deserve better than commodity roofing. A slate or copper roof doesn't just protect a house like that, it completes it.
