The North Carolina mountains are slate country, and we've been working them for years.
In Highlands, we installed a manufactured slate roof on a mountain residence built to face real weather. Elsewhere in the western mountains, a client's Vermont slate roof, now decades into its century of service, is one of the relationships we're proudest of: an Atlanta home and a North Carolina mountain home, both under our slate, both still perfect.
East of the mountains, Charlotte's traditional neighborhoods and custom builds are natural tile and slate territory, and the historic homes around Asheville deserve restoration craft, not replacement thinking. Slate and tile don't just suit these houses. In many cases, they're what the houses were designed for.
